About 7 kilometers west of the capital, discover an unspoiled town, away from the hustle and bustle of big cities. Its unique light and its bucolic setting have long made it a popular place for writers and artists. Jean-Baptiste Camille Corot, painter who inspired the Impressionists, immortalized on his canvases the beauty of the city ponds of Avray from the 19th century. The ponds of the city are then familiarly nicknamed "ponds of Corot".

The pond on the edge of which the hotel is located once belonged to the lords of Ville d´Avray, who sold fish to Parisian merchants. It is now an integral part of the city and what makes it so charming.
